Thimphu Festival
This festive event celebrates different forms of art such as traditional dance performances, visual arts exhibitions, and lectures on Buddhism by religious scholars from all over Bhutan.The Thimphu Tshechu Festival takes place annually from late October to early November at Tashichho Dzong overseeing Thimphu city residents partake in colorful , elaborate processions around town where locals come out to enjoy themselves with typical Bhutanese folk songs known as zhung dra, accompanied by traditional instruments.

Paro Festival
Held annually in early spring, this festival attracts visitors from all over the world to witness brilliant masked dances by monks and local residents alike. Paro Tshechu Festival is celebrated for five days with fireworks shows, delicious food, music performances, drama plays and even athletics competitions. The highlight of this festival is the sacred mask dances that date back centuries. The climax comes when Buddhist monks perform their rituals in bright costumes.

Punakha Festival
Punakha Drubchen celebrates victory over enemies by commemorating Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal’s victory over Tibetan forces. Festivals in Bhutan are held all year round. Although the majority of the ceremonies are conducted during the summers, it can be seen in the form of numerous holy or cultural festivals that almost takes over all of Bhutan’s monasteries throughout the year. People mostly indulge in religious beliefs and special rituals, which are celebrated with much enthusiasm. Most festivals are centered on Buddhism.

Jamba Lhakhang Festival (Bumthang Drup)
Jambay Lhak Dah meaning ‘the Gathering of All Desire’, happens at the end of winter every year marking auspicious renewal across all facets life including greetings amongst friends are made after a year of absence based on soulful prayer ceremonies held by monks representing cleansing rituals away [from] sins committed in previous lives or worn out karma’s ready to be renounced again. This festival showcases the richness and essence behind Bhutanese culture – featuring ritualistic dramas such as “Shing Karap” performed by young lads wrapped around holy threads meant for protecting against evil forces that may influence us negatively during these auspicious occasions . Alongside, we will also witness tremendous display dancing from ancient masked characters performing famous ‘drukpa kunley tseinchhug’ famed tantric guru padmasambhava stories implying blessing & protection from celestial realms too!
